The Market Village

The Market Village at Torbay Pride is one of the most vibrant and colourful parts of the entire event. It’s a bustling hub of creativity, community, and celebration, bringing together local makers, independent traders, charities, and LGBTQ+ organisations from across Torbay and beyond. Whether you’re looking to shop, learn, connect, or simply explore, the Market Village offers a welcoming space filled with discovery and personality.

Our goal is to create a marketplace that reflects the heart of Pride: diverse, inclusive, supportive, and full of life. Every stallholder contributes something unique, whether it’s handcrafted goods, delicious food, community resources, or interactive activities. The Market Village is a place where small businesses can shine, where charities can share their work, and where visitors can find meaningful connections with the people who help make Torbay such a special place.

You’ll find a wide variety of stalls throughout the village. Local artisans bring handmade jewellery, artwork, clothing, accessories, and Pride‑themed creations that you won’t find anywhere else. Many of our traders are LGBTQ+ creators or allies who pour passion and authenticity into their work. It’s the perfect opportunity to support independent businesses while taking home something memorable from your Pride experience.

Alongside the creative stalls, you’ll also discover a strong presence from community groups, charities, and support organisations. These groups play a vital role in the well-being of LGBTQ+ people across Torbay, offering everything from mental health support and youth services to sexual health advice and social groups. The Market Village gives them a platform to connect directly with the community, share resources, and raise awareness of the work they do all year round. For many visitors, these conversations become some of the most meaningful moments of the day.

Food and drink vendors add even more flavour to the Market Village. Expect a mix of local favourites, sweet treats, refreshing drinks, and global street food options that cater to a range of tastes and dietary needs. Whether you’re grabbing a quick snack between performances or sitting down to enjoy something delicious with friends, the Market Village is a great place to refuel and soak up the atmosphere.

What makes the Market Village truly special is the sense of community it creates. It’s a space where people can browse at their own pace, chat with stallholders, discover new organisations, and meet others who share similar interests or experiences. Pride is about visibility, connection, and celebration — and the Market Village embodies all of that in a warm, welcoming environment.

We also work hard to ensure the Market Village is accessible and inclusive. Wide walkways, clear signage, and support volunteers help make the space easy to navigate for everyone. Many stalls offer sensory‑friendly options, quiet engagement opportunities, or seated areas for those who need a break. Pride should be a place where everyone feels comfortable, and the Market Village is designed with that in mind.

Throughout the day, the Market Village becomes a lively social space. You might find a charity hosting a mini‑workshop, a local maker demonstrating their craft, or a community group running an activity that invites you to get involved. These interactive moments help bring the village to life and give visitors the chance to do more than just browse — they can participate, learn, and connect.

As the event continues into the afternoon and evening, the Market Village remains a steady, welcoming presence. It’s a place to return to between performances, a spot to meet friends, or a corner to explore when you want a break from the main stage energy. Many visitors say it’s where they find some of their favourite Pride memories — the conversations, the discoveries, the unexpected moments of joy.
