Welcome to Torbay Pride

Torbay Pride is more than a single event. It is a celebration of identity, community, and the vibrant diversity that makes Torquay, Paignton, and Brixham such special places to live, work, and visit. Our Pride exists to uplift the voices, experiences, and stories of the LGBTQIA+ community, while creating a safe, joyful, and inclusive space for everyone who believes in equality. Whether you’re a long‑time supporter, a first‑time visitor, or someone looking to connect with others, Torbay Pride welcomes you with open arms.

Pride in Torbay is built on the belief that visibility matters. When we gather, march, dance, and celebrate together, we send a powerful message: that every LGBTQIA+ person deserves to live openly, safely, and proudly. Our home page is your gateway to everything Pride has to offer — from entertainment and community stalls to volunteering, accessibility, and ways to get involved throughout the year.

A Celebration for Everyone

Torbay Pride is a family‑friendly, community‑driven event designed to bring people together. We celebrate the full spectrum of the LGBTQIA+ community, including lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and aromantic people, as well as those who are questioning or exploring their identity. Pride is not just for those who identify within the LGBTQIA+ umbrella — it is also for allies, friends, families, and anyone who believes in fairness, respect, and human rights.

Our event is built to be welcoming to all ages and backgrounds. Whether you’re here for the music, the parade, the Market Village, the community groups, or simply the atmosphere, you’ll find a space where you can be yourself without judgment. Pride is a celebration, but it is also a reminder of the progress we’ve made and the work that still lies ahead. By showing up, you help strengthen the message that Torbay stands for inclusion.

What to Expect at Torbay Pride

Every year, Torbay Pride brings together a vibrant mix of entertainment, community engagement, and celebration. Our main stage hosts an exciting lineup of performers, including singers, drag artists, DJs, dancers, and special guests who bring energy, colour, and joy to the day. We work hard to showcase both local talent and performers from across the UK, ensuring a diverse and dynamic programme that reflects the spirit of Pride.

Beyond the stage, our Market Village is a bustling hub of creativity and community. Here, you’ll find independent traders, LGBTQIA+ organisations, charities, artisans, and food vendors offering everything from handmade goods to essential support services. It’s a place to explore, learn, shop, and connect with the people who help make Torbay’s LGBTQIA+ community strong.

We also offer dedicated spaces for families, young people, and those who may prefer a quieter environment. Pride should be accessible to everyone, and we work closely with volunteers and accessibility partners to ensure that our event is safe, comfortable, and inclusive for people with a wide range of needs.

Why Pride Matters in Torbay

Pride is a celebration, but it is also a movement. For many LGBTQIA+ people, visibility and acceptance are still not guaranteed. Torbay Pride exists to challenge discrimination, promote understanding, and create a community where everyone can feel safe and valued. By attending Pride, supporting our work, or simply sharing our message, you help create a more inclusive Torbay for future generations.

We recognise that Pride has deep roots in activism. The first Pride marches were protests led by LGBTQIA+ people demanding equality, safety, and recognition. Today, we honour that history by continuing to advocate for the rights and well-being of LGBTQIA+ individuals across Torbay and beyond. Our Pride is a space where people can celebrate who they are while also acknowledging the ongoing fight for equality.

Get Involved

Torbay Pride is powered by volunteers, community groups, and supporters who give their time, energy, and passion to make the event possible. There are many ways to get involved, whether you want to volunteer on the day, host a stall, sponsor the event, or join one of our community initiatives throughout the year.

Volunteering is a fantastic way to meet new people, gain experience, and make a meaningful impact. Our volunteers help with stewarding, accessibility support, backstage assistance, parade coordination, and more. No matter your skills or experience, there is a place for you in the Torbay Pride team.

If you’re a local business, organisation, or charity, we invite you to be part of our Market Village or support Pride through sponsorship. Your involvement helps us keep Pride accessible, safe, and free for the community.

A Year‑Round Commitment

While the main Pride event is a highlight of the year, our commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community doesn’t end when the festival does. Torbay Pride works throughout the year to support visibility, education, and community engagement. We collaborate with local organisations, schools, and services to promote understanding and create safer spaces for LGBTQIA+ people across Torbay.

We believe that Pride is not just a day — it is a movement that continues long after the music stops. By staying connected with us, you can be part of ongoing projects, campaigns, and events that help strengthen our community.

Join Us in Celebrating Pride

Torbay Pride is a celebration of love, identity, and community. It is a reminder that every LGBTQIA+ person deserves to live proudly and authentically. Whether you’re joining us for the first time or returning for another year of celebration, we’re excited to welcome you.
